Cézanne Paul
Established in Paris following his youth in Aix, Paul Cézanne associated with the Impressionist circles before charting a singular artistic path focused on geometric rigor. Working on the margins of official salons, the artist developed an innovative vision of perspective and still life. His career stands at the crossroads of Impressionism and the Post-Impressionism movement. This persistent approach permanently redefined the fundamentals of pictorial representation.

The artist’s painting reduces natural forms to basic geometrical cylinders and spheres, structuring pictorial space without relying on classical conventions. His palette combines constructive, dense brushstrokes that impart unprecedented monumentality to familiar subjects across multiple canvases. Still lifes and Provençal landscapes constitute his favorite themes, explored tirelessly throughout his career. Color harmony is illustrated in “Apples and Oranges”, where fruits organize according to rigorous rhythm. Body monumentality appears in “Bathers III”, with sculptural volumes. Formal tension unfolds in “Card players III”. Finally, constructive rigor is observed in “The kitchen table”.

Acclaimed by early twentieth-century avant-gardes, the painter exerted considerable influence on Cubism and modern art. His formal investigations paved the way for a vision completely freed from naturalistic imitation. His artistic legacy remains a crucial reference in art history.
Acquiring a copy of Cézanne allows one to admire the rigor of volumes and the power of the master’s color harmonies, faithfully restored through a hand-created oil painting.
