Ferdinand Loyen du Puigaudeau was a French Post-Impressionist painter. After classical studies, he perfected his artistic talents through travels in Italy and Tunisia. His paintings are part of the permanent or itinerant collections of many museums (Morlaix, Nantes, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Paris, New York). Influenced by the colorist experiments of the Pont-Aven group, although distinct from them, he belongs to the Impressionist movement. Nicknamed Picolo by his friends, he enjoyed nocturnal scenes and twilight atmospheres (fireworks, sunsets, funfairs). During the last part of his life, he turned to sunny landscapes.
