Fruit Bowl and Checkered Tablecloth (Juan Gris)

This work is a fascinating exploration of texture and form. The fruit bowl and fruits are almost dissolved in a complex network of planes and facets. The checkered tablecloth, a recurring motif for Gris, is treated here in an abstract manner, its lines blending with the shadows and lights.
