Harbor by André Derain

The port of Collioure becomes the cradle of Fauvism, a place where the Catalan light pushes artists to liberate their palette. It is this unique maritime atmosphere that is captured in the painting entitled “Harbor” by the creator Derain André, representing boats at dock. In the foreground, the massive prow of a bluish-purple fishing boat advances from the left, structuring the space.
