Horse and Dog by Franz Marc

This expressionist and cubist composition by Marc Franz explores the intimate and symbolic relationships between the different forces of nature. The background and the ground consist of fragmented gray, cream, and green planes, dotted with stylized crescent moon patterns. A soft light envelops the two creatures, creating a sacred atmosphere. The geometric shapes of the ground harmonize beautifully with the main figures.
