Pigs Under the Tree by Franz Marc

This remarkable creation fits fully into the German Expressionist movement, a style favoring raw emotion and fusion with nature. The upper part is dominated by the foliage of the tree, represented in the form of large rounded blue-green and turquoise clouds. A golden yellow background bathes the whole in a warm glow, while light colored washes bring great visual delicacy.
